NF4DI recognizes the power of awareness and education in fostering a more inclusive society. Through workshops, awareness campaigns, and community dialogues, our service will aim to challenge discriminatory attitudes, promote empathy, and raise awareness about the importance of justice, equity, and inclusion.
Access to education is a fundamental human right and a key driver of individual and societal development. NEW FOCUS FOR DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE recognizes the transformative power of education and is dedicated to addressing barriers that hinder access to quality education in Nigeria. Our efforts in promoting access to education encompass the following key areas:
1. Infrastructure Improvement:
We identify and address the infrastructural limitations that impede access to education. This includes advocating for the construction of schools in underserved areas, improving existing school facilities, and addressing issues such as lack of classrooms, sanitation facilities, and safe learning environments.
2. Community Engagement:
We work closely with local communities to understand their specific challenges related to education access. By engaging community members and leaders, we aim to develop tailored solutions that address the unique needs of each community, including overcoming cultural, economic, and logistical barriers to education.
3. Outreach and Awareness Campaigns:
NEW FOCUS FOR DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE conducts outreach programs and awareness campaigns to emphasize the importance of education and encourage parents, guardians, and community members to support children’s access to schooling. Our efforts also include promoting the value of girls’ education and addressing gender disparities in access to education. Today there are many out of school children roaming the streets and some engaged in child labour in different parts of the world especially on the continent of Africa. The worst hit amongst these victims is the girl child. Therefore, as an organization we are committed to discouraging gender apathy and discrimination and to educate parents on the need to change their attitude which has hindered the female gender from pursuing education
4. Scholarships and Financial Support:
To alleviate financial barriers to education, we provide scholarships, financial assistance, and support to underprivileged students, particularly those from marginalized or economically disadvantaged backgrounds. By reducing the financial burden associated with schooling, we aim to ensure that all children have the opportunity to pursue an education. This is hat informs our “BACK 2 SCHOOL AFRICA INITIATIVE”. The project is designed to help out of school children and those who have never gone to school as a result of poverty to gain access to quality education.
5. Teacher Training and Capacity Building:
Our organization places a strong emphasis on enhancing the quality of education by providing training and support to teachers. We seek to improve teaching methodologies, address skill gaps, and empower educators with the knowledge and tools needed to deliver quality education to their students.
6. Advocacy and Policy Influence:
We engage in advocacy efforts to influence policy changes that can positively impact access to education at the local, regional, and national levels. By collaborating with government institutions, policymakers, and other stakeholders, we advocate for policies that prioritize and enhance access to quality education for all.
