About NF4D

New Focus for Development Initiative is a non-profit, non-partisan and non-governmental organization built on a tripartite principle of peace, justice and development.

The organization seeks to build a society where people do not only live peacefully together but are also able to pursue their dreams of happiness, have access to education, exercise their fundamental rights and freedom, enjoy equitable development, become productive and contribute meaningfully to the overall development of society.

Through initiatives that promote peace, education, justice and equity, good governance, economic empowerment and growth, capacity building, social cohesion and inclusion, etc, we intend to make the world a better place.

 

The organization is duly registered with the Nigerian Corporate Affairs Commission (RC; 7243736) and headquartered in the nation’s capital, Abuja. New Focus has a team of experienced and competent members whose passion, experience and expertise towards realizing the organization’s goals is unquestionable. Over the years members of our organization have organized series of national summits, conferences, empowerment programs and trainings that bordered on peace building, national development and citizens productivity.

 

OBJECTIVES:

The Peace Building Initiative by NEW FOCUS FOR DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE seeks to achieve the following objectives:

  1. Conflict Resolution: We endeavor to mediate and resolve existing conflicts within communities through dialogue, negotiation, and reconciliation processes.
  2. Capacity Building: By providing training and workshops, we seek to empower community leaders, youths, and other stakeholders with conflict resolution skills, communication strategies, and the tools necessary for promoting peace within their spheres of influence.

3. Advocacy and Awareness: We aim to raise awareness about the importance of peace and the detrimental effects of conflict, while advocating for peaceful coexistence at the local, state, regional, and national levels.

4. Collaborative Initiatives: By fostering partnerships with other organizations, government agencies, and community leaders, we strive to create a network of support for sustainable peace building efforts.

APPROACH:

The Peace Building Initiative employs a multi-faceted approach to address the varying dimensions of conflict and peace. This includes:

1. Mediation and Dialogue: Facilitating dialogue sessions and acting as mediators in conflict resolution processes to foster understanding and reconciliation.

2. Educational Workshops: Conducting workshops, seminars, and training sessions on non-violence, conflict resolution, communication, and mediation skills for community members and leaders

3. Grassroots Programs: Implementing community-based projects that promote unity and cohesion, such as stakeholders’ engagement with community leaders and opinion molders, cultural exchange programs, sports events, and art initiatives aimed at breaking down barriers and building relationships.

4. Advocacy Campaigns: Engaging in advocacy activities to sensitize the public and policymakers on the need for peaceful coexistence and the benefits of resolving conflicts through non-violent means.
